From log ago in Bethlehem
comes a story from of old
and every year at Christmas time
the story is retold
About a Baby in a manger
Jesus is His name
We were the whole reason that He came
He left His throne and came down to the earth
He came to give us all new birth
this Child who is the King of all the world
From His throne on high to poverty
He came to rescue you and me
it was God Himself in Mary's arms that day
to take our sins away
There was no inn, no room,
no place to rest His little head
and that was why this precious Child
had a manger for a bed
Though King of all creation
in poverty he came
but all of us are rich
through Jesus name
